Ruth Elaine Kinsey

Ruth E. Kinsey, 82, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Silver Oaks Health Campus. She was born May 2, 1942 in Columbus to Robert C. and Louise (Adams) Heitz. They preceded her in death. Ruth was employed for several years by Dolly Madison Bakery as a route accountant. She also worked in the cafeteria for BCSC for 22 years, primarily at Northside Middle School. She was also a former member of East Columbus Christian Church. Ruth and her late husband, Stephen, lived in Clearwater, FL, for 28 years. After Stephen’s passing in November of 2023, she moved back to Columbus to be closer to her family. Survivors include her loving children, Craig (Victoria) Barkhimer, Amy Barkhimer, and Angel Kinsey; grandchildren, Thomas and Emma Barkhimer, Terry, Alex and Savannah Thompson, and Caleb Kinsey. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Ron Bridgewater officiating. Entombment will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation will also be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
