Nancy Foster Walker departed this life on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Born on December 31, 1934 to James Clayton Foster and Helen Bass Foster of Brookneal, Virginia.
Nancy grew up in Campbell County and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1952. She was a beloved wife, mother, Nanny, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters, Marjorie May Foster, Marie Lipscomb Ashworth and Janet Foster Neal; and brother, James Clayton Foster, Jr.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Herman L. Walker; her adoring son, Al Palmer (Ellen); her loving stepdaughter, Linda Walker Ludeke (Mack Franklin); grandchildren, Brett Walker Ludeke (Saera), Lindsay Palmer Marr (Jason), Sara Ann Palmer (Jayson Dorman), Erica Ludeke Hutchison (Cameron) and Ross Tyler Palmer; great-grandchildren, Grady Hutchison, Sawyer Hutchison, Brielle Dorman and Cora Dorman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 30, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 31, at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association.
