John Joseph Koenig

John Joseph Koenig, 87, departed this life on November25, 2014. He is preceded in life by his wife, Rita Yesbeck Koenig. John was a Master Cabinet Maker and served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. During his leisure time he would enjoy smoking his pipe while watching football or NASCAR. John is survived by his four children, Mark Koenig, Faith Koenig Hendricks, Amena Koenig Burton (John) and Karen Koenig Webb(Jeff); eight grandchildren, Christina, Hailey, Robert Jr. (Lori), Charlotte (Tim), Matthew (Ann), Kaylah, LeeAnna, and Noah; six great-grandchildren, Harrison, Bennett, Pierce, Whitt, Brenden and Blake, along with a host of other family and friends. He will be missed by them all. Visitation will be Friday, November 28th from 5-7pm, with a rosary service from 7-8pm, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4560 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 29th at Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 4611 Sadler Road, Glen Allen VA 23060. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
