Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory
Glenwood Lee Bartlett Sr., 72, passed away, suddenly, on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. He’s predeceased by his parents, Bryan Owen and Mary Louis Bartlett; four brothers; and two sisters. Glen was a proud graduate of Highland Springs High School, class of 59’, and William and Mary University, with a degree in Real Estate. He was an extravagant self-taught guitar player, worked briefly as an accountant, but spent most of his career working as a skilled butcher for UKROPS. Glen spent his pastime watching NASCAR races with his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, football games, occasionally going hunting with his son, and most importantly playing BINGO. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 39 years, Virginia D. Bartlett; son, Glenwood L. Bartlett Jr. and his wife, Kim; grandchildren, Victor A. and Gage-Skyler Lee Bartlett; and a host of family and friends. His memory will forever live on in our hearts. Visitation will be Monday, June 23, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8pm, and funeral services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11am. All services will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231. Glen will be laid to rest at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA. Please make a memorial contribution in Glen's name to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.nelsenrichmond.com. Arrangements under the direction of Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, Richmond, VA.
