Jim Butler, 50, a longtime resident of Fredericksburg Va., died suddenly on October 7th 2011 in Fredericksburg.
Jim was a man’s man. He loved to work hard and took pride in doing a job, not just done, but done well and done right. He never questioned himself, he knew who he was, followed his own path, and inspired others with a smile. His strength and conviction will be missed.
Jim’s professional expertise and leadership has been essential to the construction and development of the information technology backbone of the new Russell-Knox Building at Quantico serving NCIS, CID, OSI, DSS, DIA defense agencies.
He was an active civic leader within his neighborhood, an avid hunter, fisherman, all around sportsman, and cool guy to drink rum and play poker with.
Survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Kelly Waalkes Butler and their two sons Allen and Brewster.
Predeceased by his parents Maxwell and Alice Butler; he is survived by brothers, Steve, David and Ricky; sisters Kathy Czarniak and Lori Denman; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends the hour before, and for an hour after the memorial celebration 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions to the Butler family health, welfare, & education fund. Donations may be made at the memorial service or mailed to 42 Lynchester Drive Fredericksburg, VA 22406.
