In loving memory of Debbie Selbe, we celebrate a life of courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her role as a mother, Marine Corps veteran, and weight loss counselor. Debbie departed from us on June 21, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that profoundly touched the lives of those she encountered. She is survived by Jim Selbe, her husband of 39 years, her daughter, Christina Selbe, her son, Michael Selbe, and her brother, Jimmy Hughes.
Born on April 12, 1957, in Levittown, Pennsylvania to James and Geraldine Hughes, Debbie embarked on a journey marked by a deep sense of duty and service. Above all, Debbie cherished her role as a devoted mother. She poured boundless love, wisdom, and guidance into her children's lives, shaping them into the remarkable individuals they are today. Her family was the heart of her world, and her nurturing spirit continues to resonate in their hearts and minds.
As a proud Marine Corps veteran, Debbie exemplified resilience and bravery, serving her country with honor and distinction. Her commitment to excellence earned her the respect and admiration of all who knew her during her military career.
After raising her children and watching them become self-reliant adults, Debbie embraced a new calling as a weight loss counselor. She was well known for offering relatable empathy and inspiring positive change in others' lives. Debbie’s clients remember her not only for her professional expertise but also for her warmth and encouragement in their journeys toward better health and well-being.
Though we mourn her passing, we find solace in knowing that Debbie has left an indelible imprint on our lives. Her legacy of courage, compassion, and service will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in peace, forever cherished and remembered.
Debbie desired that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating in her name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
