Marquita Eileen Yager, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital. She was born December 7, 1927 in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Yager worked as a secretary at Fort Wayne Community Schools for 29 years and then retired from the Anthis Career Center in 1992. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, American Legion#296 Aux, Nu Phi Mu Sorority and Phi Theta Delta – Lambda Chapter. Surviving are her sons, Richard Paul “Dick” (Suzanne) Yager of Scappoose, OR; Larry Craig (Susan) Yager of Edwardsville, IL; Bradley Carter (Urania) Yager of Costa Rica; mother Lavona Lucile Turpchinoff of Fort Wayne; brother, Gary Lee Turpchinoff of Fort Wayne and grandchildren, Richard Paul Yager, III, Marquita Yager, Audrey Yager, Benjamin Yager, and Kerry Yager. Preceding her death are her father Henry Lewis Baker; husband, Richard Paul Yager in 1991 and son Kerry Lynn Yager in 1990. Services will be at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 7, 2010. Calling will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Entombment will be at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials may be made to Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society.
