Obituary of Margaret Louise (Beamer) Poore

IN THE CARE OF

Nelsen Williamsburg

Margaret Louise (Beamer) Poore was born October 13, 1930 in Pinson Fork, Kentucky. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Glenn Howard and Grace (Stewart) Beamer, her sister, Peggy Jo (Beamer) Hunt and her oldest daughter, Peggy (Poore) Leckrone Byrd. She left this world peacefully to join the love of her life, her husband, Jack Jennings Poore, on November 26, 2018. Margaret was a secretary at Oak Creek United Church of Christ in Kettering, Ohio for many years and finished her professional career as an Executive Secretary to the President of Homestead Savings and Loan in Dayton, Ohio. The most important thing in her life was her family. She was a loving mother to Peggy and Cheryl Lynne (Poore) Rock. Margaret imparted a love that gave her daughters the confidence to excel in life and continue the legacy of a life well-lived with her husband, Jack, of 50 years. Margaret and Jack were a true love story from the days of dating on their bicycles in high school to spending life together devoted to one another and their family. Their passion was spending family time on their boat and that was certainly passed on to the Rock Family. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Rock and husband Michael, their daughters, Erin Lynne Rock and fiancé Jamie Eastham, Lisa Rock Gibson and husband David Gibson, Grandson Tom Leckrone and Great-Grandchildren Vivian and Tom Leckrone of Ohio. Once Margaret moved to Virginia to be close to her daughter and her family, she found a loving church family at Newtown United Methodist Church. She was a member of many organizations and clubs. The smile Margaret was quick to share and the uncanny ability to make everyone she came into contact with feel loved and important will be sadly missed. Her family is heartbroken as the void of her absence will never be filled. Margaret’s life philosophy was to treat others as you wish to be treated and it will come back to you exponentially. Visitation will be at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA from 10am-noon on November 30, 2018. The funeral service will follow at noon. A private entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside Health System Foundation Lifelong Health Fund, 500 J. Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA, https://www.riversideonline.com/foundation/gift_destinations/lifelong-health.cfm or to New Town United Methodist Church, 5209 Monticello Ave, Williamsburg, VA 23188, www.newtownumc.org. Margaret’s family is overwhelmed with the kindness of the healthcare providers at Riverside Doctor’s Hospital and the friends that have shown their kindness in so many ways to Margaret and her family. She left this earth, but never will leave our hearts. Online condolences may be offered at www.nelsenwilliamsburg.com.
