Benjamin Clarke Tyree
June 29, 1951 – May 26, 2024

Benjamin Clarke Tyree, 72, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 29, 1951, in Richmond VA, he was the son of the late Charles Everett Tyree and Lena Gilbert Kemp Tyree.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Clarke Watson (Patrick); three granddaughters, Shelby Clarke Watson, Maggie Elizabeth Watson, and Lily Kathryn Watson; three siblings, Keith Foster Tyree, Robin Tyree Mann (Clayton) and Margaret Tyree Wittenbraker (Bill); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Clarke was preceded in death by his brother, Everett Gilbert Tyree.
After graduating from James Blair High School in Williamsburg VA in 1969, he began a career with the Chesapeake Corporation that spanned 42 years.
He enjoyed golf, family reunions, attending his granddaughters’ activities and time spent at the beach with his family, whom he cherished and adored.
With an enthusiastic joy for life, Clarke made everyone feel welcome. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, May 31 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, where the funeral service will also be held on Saturday, June 1 at 11:00 AM. A graveside service at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, 80 Soles Ln., Dutton, will follow at 1:00 PM.
