Larry "GDaddy" Bowman Parr

Larry Bowman "GDaddy" Parr, 74, of Crimora, passed away on Sunday May 1, 2022 at Augusta Health. Larry was born on March 27, 1948 in Harrisonburg, and was a son of the late Isaac Bowman and Loretta Dolories Parr Hevener. Larry retired after 35 years in maintenance with DuPont. He was also the Vice President of the Local UWI Union. Larry was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church of Waynesboro. He loved hunting and animals of all types. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. On September 17, 1965 he married the former Dora Hellen Abshire, who survives. In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his children, Larry Bowman “Bow” Parr, II and wife Cathy, Dolonda Renee “Lonnie” Campbell, Patrick Waylon Parr and wife Alicia, all of Crimora; a sister, Donna Parr Abshire and husband Danny of Crimora; eight grandchildren, Tyler Michael, Cody Parr, Brandon Campbell, Makenna Campbell, Breea Cook, Erica Parr, Isaac Parr, Wyatt Bartley; four great-grandchildren, Emmalyn Cook, Kaiya Cook, Adalyn Michael, Hazel Jerman, and one on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be held on Thursday May 5, 2022 at 1 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Minister Dale Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. There will be a meal following the graveside service, at the First Christian Church of Waynesboro. Active Pallbearers for the service will be Phil Hall, Jason Viar, Bo Truslow, David Harris, Chad Garland, Barry Williams, Jason Craig, and Howard Estes. The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 4, 2022 from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Waynesboro, 241 N.
