Kenneth “Kenny” Duaine Eye, 64, of Waynesboro, passed away on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Kenny was born in Augusta County to June (Mars) and Duaine J. Eye on August 18th, 1960. He graduated from Wilson High School where he excelled at Basketball and Baseball. Kenny took over the family farm that his grandfather started and worked the farm for his entire life. Kenny was a loving, well rounded man who took great care of his wife and family. In his spare time, Kenny loved to hunt deer and play golf, usually playing three times a week with his good friends, regardless of the weather. He was also an avid sports fan and loved to watch his Steelers on TV. Kenny was a fan of classic rock and was in the process of learning to play the guitar. When not at home, Kenny loved to go to Virginia Beach with his wife, where they would people watch and enjoy the sunsets. His family will love Kenny forever and miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by a sister, Judy Gray.
Kenny is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Sharon Eye of Waynesboro; his stepson, Eric Carter and wife Sarah of Houston, TX; and his grandchildren, Lunden Carter, Avery Carter and Hawke Carter. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Eye of Glen Allen; and his sister, Karen Benson of Hermitage. In addition, Kenny is survived by a special niece and co-farmer, Lainey Call; his best friend, hunting, and golfing partner, Stoney Parr; and his brother-in-law, Mark Gray, who also worked with Kenny on the farm. Lastly, Kenny is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his canine sidekick, Lucy.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 29th, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes for a time of remembrance and reflection.
