Jerry Lee Nowell, Sr.
February 23, 1934 – February 25, 2020

Jerry Lee Nowell Sr., was born February 23rd 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee to Eugene and
Florence Nowell.
Jerry joined the Navy at an early age. He proudly served for 23 years, retiring as a veteran of
The Vietnam War as a Senior Chief. After retiring from the Navy, he was employed with QED
Systems for 20 years as a Proposal Writer. While employed he earned his Associates Degree at
Tidewater Community College.
After retirement, Jerry was able to pursue his passion for golf full time and share it with his son
and grandson. He always looked forward to the next family gathering, giving him an opportunity
to indulge loved ones.
He will be remembered for his generosity, kind and compassionate heart, sense of humor, and
love for his grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father Eugene, mother Florence, brother Robert, and sister
Doris.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memories: son Jerry Lee Nowell Jr and his daughter Kelly Parker,
grandsons, Hunter and Skip, granddaughter Elsa, and brother James.
The viewing will be held on February 27th, 2020 from 6:00 PM - 8:00PM at Rosewood-Kellum
Funeral Home, located at 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach VA 23462. The funeral service
will be held on February 28th, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with
interment at the Princess Anne Memorial Park Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
