Georgia Celeste Brand

Georgia C. Brand, 91, passed away on December 16, 2020. She was born to the late David Sampson Foster and Ruth Esther Foster in North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, James A. Brand. Music was a big part of Georgia’s life. She sang in the area for many years, and she had the good fortune to perform in live shows on WCMS radio. Georgia was also a past President of the Tidewater Chapter of the Virginia Country Music Association, helping promote country music and local bands. She treasured the relationships she had with so many in the music industry. Over the years, Georgia was employed as a ticket agent with Capitol and United Airlines; an operator with C&P Telephone Company, and a manager at Breezy Point Officers Club and Little Creek CPO club. Georgia loved her family and leaves behind two daughters and their spouses, Linda Bartnik (Don), Diane Caldwell (Chris); a son, Donald Feci; two step-children and their spouses, John Brand (Candy), Jolene Criswell (Dave); two brothers, Charlie Foster and Floyd Foster; two sisters, Rennie Killingsworth and Dee Foster, a daughter-in-law, Diana Sheets; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a beloved cat “Kayla”, and a host of other close family and friends. Due to COVID and capacity restrictions, the family is holding a private service on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 2PM.
