Virginia Beach - Carrie Evelyn Smith, 96, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2016.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband James Smith. She was a member of Thalia United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son Melvyn Ray Smith and wife Linda, two daughters Joycelyn Barnard and husband Hassel and Bonita Smith;five grandchildren Jennifer K. Marshall, Dawn B. Eskins and husband John, James A. Barnard and wife Cathy, Andrew S. Barnard and wife Kathy and Pamela Ciavarra; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
