Bernerd Gale Isley

Bernerd Gale Isley, 92, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on August 28, 2016. Mr. Isley was born in Greensboro, NC and resided in Norfolk most of his life. He graduated from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology. He was a veteran of World War II and retired as a Quality Assurance Inspector with N.A.R.F. after thirty years of service. He was a self-employed certified welder and a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church for many years. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-six years, Anne D. Isley, four children Elizabeth Isley, Gary B. Isley and wife Gabbi, Melissa Gale Isley, Missy Isley Viohl and husband Kenny; eight grandchildren Jason Isley, Bernard Isley, Benjamin Kaplan, Shayna Kaplan, Katie Isley, Sollie Kaplan, Kevin Isley and Ali Bresenoff; a niece Joy Farlow, sisters-in-law Kathryn Weeks and children and Jackie Branzelle and children. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 31, 12:00 Noon at Virginia Heights Baptist Church, 1251 Kempsville Road, Norfolk. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be private. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care provided by Senior Corp and Comfort Care Hospice of Chesapeake.
