Luella Marie Jarvis

Luella M. Jarvis, 96, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Union Hospital. She was born on September 25, 1921, in Terre Haute to William Alexander and Emma (Kern) Archibald. Luella is survived by her children, Richard Jarvis Jr. and Diane Munier (Dennis), all of Madison, IN; grandsons, Richard Jarvis III and Grant Jarvis, both of Chesapeake, VA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Richard Jarvis Sr.; brothers, Donald William Archibald and Richard Kern Archibald; and a sister, Barbara Cottom. Luella graduated from Wiley High School in 1939. She was an active member of the First Church of Christ Scientist and volunteered wherever the Church needed her. In her spare time, Luella liked to sew, read, and listen to music. She doted on her cat, Frisco. Most of all, Luella cherished the time she spent with her children in Madison. She had a spunky, independent nature. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 13 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home.
