William Robert Herndon III

William “Bill” Robert Herndon III of Stafford died Saturday September 27, 2014. He was born on September 29, 1952 in Pittsboro, NC. to Robert and Grace Herndon. In addition to his parents he is preceded in by his sister Karen Gammons. He is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Herndon two sons; William Kyler Herndon and Matthew Louis Herndon both of Stafford. Other survivors included two brothers; Kenneth Herndon and wife Lori and Richard Dennis Herndon and wife Marsha, along with numerous friends and family. Bill coached both sons and other young people who played Stafford Baseball which he was a member of for 7 years. He was an avid Redskins fan. He was a beloved husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family, and at the ball field and in the community. He was employed by CGI as a contractor at the FBI lab at Quantico. The family will receive friends on Thursday October 2, 2014 from 5-8pm at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service Stafford Chapel 186 Shelton Shop Rd. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 18825 Fuller Heights Rd. Triangle, Va. 22172. Interment will be on Tuesday October 7, 2014 at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers the family asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in William’s name to the Stafford Baseball P. O.
