Elizabeth Ruth Hinkley

Elizabeth (Betty) Ruth Hinkley, of Lorton, Virginia, age 91, died on March 14, 2020.
Mrs. Hinkley was born, the youngest of ten children, in St. Paul, MN.
Elizabeth married in 1948 and accompanied her husband, Roger Hinkley, as a foreign service officer’s wife, on his tours of duty with the U.S. Information Agency to Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. In 1971, they returned to the U.S. They owned and operated Jewel Crafters jewelry store in the Springfield Mall until 1987.
She was a member of St. Raymond of Peñafort Catholic Church in Springfield, VA.
Mrs. Hinkley was a voracious reader and especially enjoyed historical novels. Her other hobbies included baking, cooking, and gardening. She loved growing tomatoes and roses among other flowers and produce.
Her husband of 49 years, Roger Dale Hinkley, died in 1998.
Survivors include daughters, Danielle Hinkley and Gina Moses, five grandchildren, Trae Tyler, Nicole Abba, Andrew Abba, Madison Moses, and Simone Moses, many nephews and nieces, and friends.
Betty will join Roger at Arlington National Cemetery.
