Marilyn Gallmeyer
February 4, 1944 – May 31, 2024

Marilyn Gallmeyer was called home by the Lord on May 31, 2024, after a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter J. Cavedo and Mattie Lienhart, her sisters Jean Gary, Linda O’Berry, and Wilma Fleming, her son Louis Gallmeyer II, and granddaughter Jessica Gallmeyer.
Marilyn was a dental assistant in Highland Springs for nearly fifty years. She dedicated her life as the original Matriarch of Gallmeyer Farms, and her spirit will live on through the business founded with her husband Bill. The Berry Patch, The Veggie Stand, The Pumpkin Patch, and Marilyn’s flower gardens are a living legacy to Marilyn’s courage, tenacity, and her desire to share her love of growing things and serving Henrico citizens. Marilyn’s smile, enthusiasm, love, and dedication to the core values of family, farming, and Faith will be missed by all.
Marilyn is survived by her husband William “Bill” Gallmeyer of Sandston, daughter Lori Hoover of Henrico, son Stephen Gallmeyer Sr (Nancy) of Henrico, nephew Robert Gary of Gloucester, nephew Anthony Gary of Houston, TX, grandchildren Stephen Gallmeyer Jr of New Kent, Zachary Gallmeyer of Clayton, NC, Patrick Gallmeyer of Clayton, NC, Louis Gallmeyer III of Clayton, NC, Candice Gallmeyer of Virginia Beach, Andy Sheldon of Sandston, Chris Sheldon of Sandston, Clint Hoover of Midlothian, and great grandchildren Lincoln and Annabelle Hoover of Midlothian.
The family will receive friends, 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 6 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, where a funeral service will be held 12 p.m., Friday, June 7. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park
