Obituary of Judith Morton Berger
Judith Morton Berger, age 69, departed this life for a new one, on Wednesday August 25, 2021. She was born on March 17, 1952 in Richmond, Virginia to the late, Edwin Clyde Morton and Ester Lee Robinson. She was predeceased by her sister, Diania Morton Damron. She graduated from Highland Springs High School and Mountain State University. Judy always had joy and love in her heart for Jesus, loved to praise Jesus and always gave glory to God. She always studied the bible, quoted scripture and loved being a student of the Lord. Judy had a beautiful voice and loved to sing as a member of the choir and praise team. Judy had a successful career and faithfully served the Henrico County Division of Police for 30 years, retiring as cold case detective. She learned sign language and acted as a liaison to the deaf community for the police department. Judy was very talented in her ability to create floral arrangements and crafts. She used those talents regularly and after retirement volunteering at church and working on decorations for all seasons and special events. Judy was so proud to be Jason and Kevin's Mom....and although it was taken from her too soon, she loved being Grammy and really loved spending all of Mike's money on the grandkids. Judy is survived by husband, Mike; sons, Jason W. Madison, Kevin S. Madison (Ashley); grandchildren, Tristan, Nate, Brody, Hayden, Ryan, Alaina, and Olivia; brothers, John M. Lloyd Jr. (Justine); Charles "Chuck" Morton (Wendy); sister, Cindy Marshall (Jimmy); and many loved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Sept. 9, 2021 at Woody Funeral Home-Parham. Her funeral service will be held at 11 am on Sept. 10, 2021 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church on Nuckols Road with interment in the church cemetery following the service. The family wishes to thank the entire University of Virginia Neurology Staff for their exceptional and compassionate care. Contributions can be made to Mount Vernon Baptist Church on Nuckols Road or a charity of your choice.
