Obituary of Alice Campbell Myers
Alice died on 12/26/22 at the age of 93 in Richmond VA. She was born in Hoopeston, IL on May 2, 1929. She graduated from Illinois State University with the intention of becoming a teacher but found her true calling as a realtor. She met the love of her life Donald C. Myers at a funeral home where he was interning to become a funeral director, he never pursued that career path and became an accountant. Together they decided that central Illinois was not the place for them and moved to Orlando Florida in 1958. They loved Florida and lived there for most of their lives while raising 2 children. Alice was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her family, she was passionate about helping her community. Because she loved Florida she worked diligently as a volunteer to raise funds for Florida House which is completely supported by contributions to promote the state in Washington DC. She was also an informed and involved American, Prior to Donald Trump, she was a dedicated Republican, after his rise within the party she became an Independent. The world has lost an advocate for betterment. Alice was predeceased by her parents William J & Doris G. Campbell, 2 brothers William & Louis Campbell, 2 sisters Naomi C. Davis & Mary C. Carl, husband Donald, and son John. She is survived by her brother Phillip Campbell(Bonnie), daughter Beth M. Ludden (Patrick), daughter-in-law Barbara L. Myers (Scott), grandchildren Joshua C. Myers (Bridget), Nick C. Myers (Brie), and Christina M. Marciello (Stephen) and great grandson Jayce C. Myers plus many much-loved nieces and nephews. To honor Alice’s memory a memorial service will be held at Woody’s Funeral Home 1771 Parham Rd Richmond, VA, 23229 on 1/20/2023, visitation from 2 - 3 p.m., following a service from 3 - 4 p.m.. Donations in her memory to Circle Center Adult Day Services in Richmond or to Florida House would be appreciated.
