Obituary of Beverly A McAfee
Beverly Ann McAfee, 80, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at The Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne. Born January 19th, 1934 at the home of her grandparents Arthur and Alma Young near Ossian, she was the daughter of the late Fred O. Moser and Evelyn D. (Young) Moser. She graduated from Ossian High School in 1951 and worked at Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in Ft. Wayne. Later, she worked as a librarian for many years at the Norwell Middle School in Wells County. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, H. Dewight McAfee; her two sisters: Marilyn (Tom) Somers and Dolores (Steve) Schlenger both of Ossian and her four children: Julie McAfee of Clarkston, MI, David (Rose) McAfee of Ossian, Daniel (Cindy) McAfee of Ft. Wayne and Lynda (Rod) Myers of Ft. Wayne. Surviving also are nine grandchildren: Amy McAfee, Michael (Mandy) McAfee, Tim McAfee, Ryan (Rebecca) McAfee, Jon McAfee, Leigh (Neal) Lewis, Paige (Quinn) Myers, Amanda McAfee, and Katie McAfee and five great grandchildren: Caleb, Parker, Anthony, Colin and Phineas. Beverly played infield for the Zanesville Dolls and Hoagland softball teams in the 1950’s. Later Beverly founded the “Twelve Belles” women’s club which met monthly from 1957 until the present and which has been a source of support, service and joy for each other’s families and the Ossian area community for the last 57 years. A funeral Service will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Elzey Patterson Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, IN 46777 with visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 4pm to 7pm on Friday. Preferred memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse or the Calvary United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne.
