Patricia "Pat" Tyre Gardner

Patricia “Pat” Tyre Gardner, 81, passed away at her home on October 31, 2021. She was born October 2, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Catherine Tyre, a brother Peter Tyre, a sister Gail Donavan and a grandson Elliott Glantz and a granddaughter Tina Glantz. She married William J. Gardner on October 18, 1958. They relocated to Norfolk, Virginia in the 1960’s. Mrs. Gardner was a nurse first but always a care giver. She worked at Norfolk General Hospital for 2 years then moved for Gordan Harreii MD for approximately 5 years. Until Norfolk General Hospital opened and Gastroenterology Unit with Stephen Caplan M.D. She worked with him the 1st Board Certified Gastro Physician from 1975 to 1986 then Dr. Hollis from 1986 for 30 years. Survivors include five children William Gardner, Susan Isenhour (Michael), Michelle Rafferty (Nick), Michael Gardner (Jayne) and Mark Gardner; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren and a sister Marikay Nevrotski (Leo). The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 5, 12:00 Noon at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
