Jo Muehleib passed away Friday September 20, 2024, in Virginia Beach, VA. She was born in Johnson City, TN to the late Robert Coy Wilson Sr and Gertrude Smith Wilson. Wilson; sister in-law’s, Geraldine Wilson, Lisa Wilson and Dolores Foscherari; niece, Rhonda Lynn Hodges.
Jo was a loving wife, mother, stepmother and grandmother. She loved traveling with Bill and making memories all over the world including skiing Vail Colorado, climbing Machu Picchu in Peru as well as visiting countless states, countries and continents. In the early years, Jo obtained her Commodity License and became the Commodity Manager of a brokerage firm in Norfolk VA and in 1972 she relocated to Arlington VA after marrying Bill. She then worked for The Department of Energy and The Department of Interiors before going to work with Bill at Federal Sales Service, as the Director of Marketing. Once retired, Jo enjoyed many passions, like spending time in Colonial Williamsburg, taking care of her beautiful flowers and eating great food. One of her many passions was photography and in 2007 she was appointed Official Photographer for the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association for the State of Virginia where she served until 2009. Jo then realized her passion for Genealogy and in 2017 she served as President and Chairman of Executive Board for the Virginia Beach Genealogical Society. She also enjoyed gathering with friends for weekly “lunch bunch” and “Sunday happy hours”. Jo’s greatest passion was spending time with family, and she played an integral part in bringing family and friends together for birthday parties, family reunions and holidays. Her favorite holiday by far was Christmas, with endless number of decorations and never enough lights.
Jo was graceful, caring, joyful, proud, courageous and strong. She was beautiful on the inside and out, especially her smile. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Jo is cherished in memory by her daughter, Robin (John) DeLeon; step-sons, Jeffrey (Meridith) Muehleib, Richard (Mary) Muehleib; step-daughter, Patricia (Shane) Barry; grandchildren, Carrie, Caleb, Carsyn, Camrin, Tristan, Stephanie, Catherine, Brian, Timothy, Kevin, Caitlin; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Riley Wilson; brother in-law; Roger K.
