Donald Lee Barr

Donald L. Barr, 88, of Newburgh, IN passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at his home. He was born June 25, 1929, in Evansville, IN to the late Rev. Henry W. and Gladys (Faught) Barr.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and ended his service on the USS Yosemite. Donald retired from Vectren, where he worked for over 30 years. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church where he volunteered for many years. Donald was also the past president of the Newburgh Kiwanis Club. He loved music, art, being a HAM Radio Operator, and was an avid bicyclist who enjoyed traveling.
Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Hayes.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley A. (Riley) Barr; daughter, Kendra (Mark) Winchester; grandchildren, Quinn Luker, Shelby Luker, and Savannah Winchester; brother, Paul (Maureen) Barr; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel, officiated by Pastor Rick Riley, with entombment with military rites in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time at the cemetery chapel.
