Carlos Gene Welder, 84, of Newburgh, IN, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 28, 2016. He was born in Princeton, IN on June 10, 1931 to the late Carlos Lee Welder and Minnie Marie Jones.
He graduated from Princeton High School. Carlos began his career in the tool and die industry with the Benerson Company in Evansville, IN. He also worked for Potter and Brumfield for over ten years. In 1982, he and Patty moved to Florida where they owned and operated two large laundromats in Sarasota and Tampa.
In 1949, he married his high school sweetheart, Patty Cross. They continued to navigate through a lifetime of children and grandchildren for over 66 years. Carlos enjoyed his life to the fullest. Golf was his first love (after Patty). He was also an avid fisherman, gardener, professional ice cream maker, and 50 year Mason. Most of all, Carlos loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Lee Welder and Minnie Marie Jones.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Cross) Welder; sisters, Bonnie June (Welder) Krug of Petersburg, IL and Sandy Kietel of Evansville; brother, Larry Welder of Evansville; children, Jane Maikranz (Roger), Terri Brines (Bob), Mike Welder (Pat), Russell Welder (Debbie) and John Welder; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Friends may visit Wednesday, 3:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Carlos, you will be greatly missed but you will live in our hearts forever.
