William Franklin Johnson

William Franklin Johnson, 92 years of age died Monday February 1, 2016 at the V.A. Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born July 6, 1923 in Commerce, Georgia to the late Warren and Grace (Beard) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a retired employee of the Kroger Co. and a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the F. & A.M. in New Albany and was married for 66 years to Estella (Huggins) Johnson. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Estella Louise (Huggins) Johnson; sons, Craig Johnson (Darlene), Steven Wayne Johnson; grandchildren, Matthew Johnson (Sarah), Melanie Johnson; great grandchildren, Zachary and Adriana Johnson; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. His funeral service with military honors will be held at 8:00 pm Thursday at the Kraft Chapel. Private burial will be at Westhaven Cemetery in New Albany on Friday.
