Ruth Simonis Gabehart

Ruth Simonis Gabehart, age 63 passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Baptist Health Floyd. She was born on June 28, 1961 in New Albany, Indiana to the late John and Linda Rapatz Simonis. She was a Psychiatric Registered Nurse with U of L Health Peace Hospital with over 18 years of helping others. In addition to being a Psychiatric RN, she had her Masters in Social Work where she continued helping others. She loved spending time with her animals, nieces, nephews and God children. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny Simonis and Ralph Simonis. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, John Gabehart; siblings, Edwin Simonis, Victor Simonis and Linda Simonis; nieces, Jackie Simonis (Dean Tanner), Kim Simonis and Winnie Green (Chris); a great niece, Grace Willis (Hunter); a great nephew, Jack Brown (Rio); and god children, Olivia, Harper and Lucy. Visitation for Ruth will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral service will be Friday, November 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
