Norma Jane Moore passed away on October 2, 2013, in Indianapolis. Norma, the daughter of Archibald C. Hook and Naomi Miller Hook was a life-long resident of New Albany, Indiana.
Norma was widowed twice -- first in 1979 by Von L. Hisey and then by the beloved Edgar “Eddie” Moore whom she married in 1999.
Her life’s joy revolved around her three daughters, eight grandchildren, and one great grandson. Her three daughters are Deborah Hammond Peebles of Indianapolis (Julian), Nancy Ruxer of Louisville (Marty), and Angie Edwards of Wake Forest, North Carolina (Kevin).
Her grandchildren and great grandson will miss the presence of their “Grammy” greatly. For three decades Grammy was the first person to arrive with the birth of each grandchild from her first grandchild in San Francisco in 1979 through the first great grandchild in Indianapolis in the summer of 2009. Norma’s grandchildren are Von Matthew (Maura) and Alex Hammond (Susan); Emilee, Taylor and John Ruxer; and Abigail Jane, Jack, and Ashley Edwards; and great grandson Declan Birch Hammond.
Norma has one surviving brother, Jim Hook of New Albany. She was preceded in death by her husbands and her sister Archilein Muncy and brothers Harry and Carl Hook.
Norma worked at the White House Department Store, Bruce Fox Company and Jamie Aebersold Co. She was member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Her passion was vacationing in warm climates and spending time with her daughters and their families.
Funeral will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm prior to the funeral service.
