IN THE CARE OF
Kraft Funeral Service
Michael Patrick Broderick, 66, of Floyds Knobs, IN passed away on October 28, 2019, after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. True to his Irish Heritage, Mike never met a stranger. Known for an open heart and warm home, Mike delighted in welcoming everyone to celebrate any occasion as he loved to cook and entertain. His relationships were sincere and valued. He was proud of his association with The Cardinal Ritter #1221 Council the Knights of Columbus in New Albany, IN and volunteered his time and talents to various fundraisers held to benefit the less fortunate in our community. He personally coordinated the Knights of Columbus Christmas Day Breakfast for the homeless every year. Even Mike’s hobby farm was a gift to others. Many friends and family especially his niece Mindy Avis, came to enjoy and follow the antics of the baby goats, chickens, pigs, and Mazie the donkey.
In addition to his parents, Edward and Alice Broderick, he is preceded in death by a sister, Betsy Avis.
Mike is survived by his wife, Toni Broderick, sons, Patrick (Carmen) and Kevin (Amanda) Broderick; grandchildren, Thomas and Avery Broderick; a sister, Bridget (Bobby) Frank; a brother-in-law, Frank Avis, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and out-laws.
Friends and family will gather on Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 9-12:30 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street with Mass to follow at 1:00 pm in the sanctuary at St. Mary Catholic Church, New Albany, IN. A celebration of life reception and parade will be from the church to the Knights of Columbus Hall, 809 East Main Street, New Albany, IN immediately following mass.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to his favorite charity to benefit the homeless breakfast. gf.me/u/vtu7mq
