Kenneth Ronald Russell, 71, of Greenville, Indiana passed away December 12, 2020 at his home. He was born on November 5, 1949 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Kenneth and Virginia Rissler Russell. He was a retired railroad engineer with L&N- CSX Railroad, Indiana-Louisville Railroad, Corydon Railroad and RJ Corman Railroad. In his retirement, he and his wife ran Russell Veggies, a cornerstone of the New Albany Farmer's Market for many years. Kenny was the featured farmer in the 2019 Indiana State Fair. He also loved to hunt, trap and fish.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Valarie Russell; children, Melissa Russell, Amy Squires (Don), Laura Smith (Jason) and Jeremiah Russell (Deanna); a step-son, Gary Bachmann; grandchildren, Kimberly, Cody, Evan, Kaelin, Donnie, Madeline, Tyler and Jacob; siblings, Donald Russell (Sharon), Gerald Russell (Vickie), Robert Russell (Mary) and Mary Flock (Les); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Private Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service. Friends and extended family may view funeral services on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/kraftfuneral.
