Jimmie Dee Hardin

Jimmie Dee Hardin, age 81, of Otisco, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023. Jimmie was born in Grayson County, Kentucky to the late Alfred and Laura Hardin. He retired from Baptist Hospital East as a property manager and in his early years enjoyed scuba diving. He was a longtime softball player and coach, enjoyed fishing, and was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Cincinnati Reds. For years, Jimmie could be found at the end of the bar at the old Double T Tavern in Jeffersonville. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Hazel Winters, Al Hardin, Mary Clements, Dean Hockenberry, Ronald Hardin, Herbert Hardin, and Elizabeth Manley.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kerris Hardin; children, Dewayne Savage (Debbie), Annette Taylor (Steve), Tim Hardin (Donna); sisters, Betty Heacock, Bytha Decker, Kaye Meredith; grandchildren, Ryan Roederer, Josh Savage, Kyle Savage, Sara Taylor, Thomas Hardin, Lucas Hardin; and 8 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Jimmie will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Jimmie will be laid to rest in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jimmie's memory go to Amedisys Hospice Care in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
