Dr. Glenn M. Mason

Dr. Glenn M. Mason, 66, passed away at home surrounded by his family on November 7, 2018. Dr. Mason was born on November 29, 1951 and was raised in New Albany, Indiana. He held a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Wyoming, in Laramie, his beloved home for many years. Dr. Mason was Coordinator of the Department of Geosciences and a distinguished tenured Professor at Indiana University Southeast. Dr. Mason was professionally recognized for his excellence in research and teaching, and broadly regarded for his dedication to his students. Glenn was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife Pamela Mason (Zollman), his son Ben Mason (fiancée Ashley), his daughter Nicole Richie (son-in-law Daryl), and his grandson Jayden. Though he was an avid traveler, his favorite place was at home with his wife and dog, Cheyenne. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. A reception will be held from 3-6 pm with a remembrance service at 6 pm on Saturday, November 10th at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Floyd County Humane Society.
