Frederick J. "Fred" Kelley

Frederick J. “Fred” Kelley, 71 years of age passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 6, 2021 surrounded by his family. Fred was born in New Albany, IN on July 14, 1949 to the late Bill and Ruth Ann Kelley. He was a graduate of the New Albany High School class of 1968, a Navy Veteran serving his country during the Vietnam War, and former co-owner of W.M. Kelley Co. where he loved to the be the hands-on boss, mentoring countless employees. Fred was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the board president of the Silver Creek Water Company. He also enjoyed wood turning, metal working, fishing and hunting. Fred had a huge heart and would be there for anyone who needed him especially his family. He loved every single member of his family very much, they were always his #1 priority. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother David Kelley.
Fred is survived by his wife of 38 years Marla (Givens) Kelley, son, Samuel Kelley (Rebecca), daughter, Kayse (Kelley) Greer, grandchildren, Abraham, Arthur, and Cooper, siblings, Becky Knotts, Pat Kelley (Pam), Peggy Schaffer (Robby), Mike Kelley (Susan), Jeanne Lind (David), and Sally Watts (Bill) along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road. Funeral Service will held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the funeral chapel with private entombment in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you to make a donation of your choice in his memory.
