Dorotha "Dottie" Eleanor Dowding Cox

Dorotha “Dottie” Eleanor Cox, 91 years of age passed peacefully Friday, December 26, 2014 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born June 26, 1923 in Calhoun County, Michigan to the late Roy and Emmogene (Butler) Dowding. Dottie was married to the late Laurence R. Bottomley; then the late Everett E. Cox. She graduated from Western Michigan University, loved music, singing, dancing, and was very active in P.T.A., church, and was a gracious hostess. Her work was related to cosmetology where she was a consultant for Luzier, and worked at Bergner’s in sales. Her real passion was love of family and friends. She was a member of Covenant Life Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Alma, Charlotte, Joy; brother, Robert; and granddaughter, Heidi. Survivors include her children, Ray Bottomley and wife Ladonna, Ron Bottomley and wife Sue, Karen Lee Bottomley, David Bottomley and wife Karen Leigh; brother, Richard Dowding; 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Reception of family and friends will be from 3:00 pm ~ 5:00 pm Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Memorial Service will be at 5:00 pm Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to go to Clark Memorial Hospital Foundation.
