Dateline: New Albany, Indiana June 29, 2015 Doris G. Hancock, 91, died Monday, June 29, 2015 at Providence Retirement Home. She was born October 22, 1923 in New Albany to the late Edwin and Edith Day Soergel. She is also preceded in death by her husband, George Hancock and siblings, Sister Edith Soergel, Victor W. Soergel, and Paul Soergel. Survivors include: Daughters: Mary Sue Olson (Mike) Judith Hancock Dupre (Joseph) Paula Hancock (Dean Cummins) Sarah Garner (John) Dodie Lamm (Ray) 12 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren Siblings: Joseph Soergel, Edwin Soergel, Robert Soergel, Theresa Hulsman, and Mary Soergel Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in New Albany In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to: Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or Mount Saint Francis.
