Crystal Susan Quick

Crystal Susan Howard Quick passed away quietly on October 15 after a prolonged illness. She was 71 years old. She is survived by her loving husband Morris Quick, to whom she had been married to for 48 years. Crystal was born on July 1, 1952, and grew up in a large, white farmhouse in rural Floyds Knobs, Indiana. She graduated from Floyd Central High School in 1970. Crystal is predeceased by her father, William C. Howard, mother Hilda Brown Howard, and sister Therese Ruth Howard. She is survived by her eight brothers: Curtis Richard (wife Linda Bolton) of Speed, Indiana; Timothy Victor of Las Vegas, Nevada; Anthony William of Fredericksburg, Indiana; Joseph Francis of Sellersburg, Indiana; Dominic Savio of Charlestown, Indiana; Matthew Robin of Sellersburg, Indiana; Peter Andrew of Louisville, Kentucky, and Michael Thomas of Charlestown, Indiana. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Anita Holland of Sellersburg, Indiana, brother-in-law, Rickie Quick of New Albany, Indiana, and sister-in-law Alda Quick of New Salisbury, Indiana. In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Crystal was known for her vibrant red hair, radiant smile, and fun sense of humor. She loved decorating for the holidays and had a flair for dressing up as such characters as leprechauns, the Easter Bunny, and even Santa Claus. She had a generous spirit and showered her loved ones with presents at Christmas as well as throughout the year. Crystal had fond memories of when she performed along with her brother Michael and niece Julie in a stage production of the original musical, Bettin’ On the Robert E. Lee, which was directed by her other brother Peter. Crystal loved to dance and occasionally enjoyed a Fuzzy Navel cocktail. A visitation for Crystal will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with visitation prior to service starting at 9:00 a.m. Donations in Crystal’s name may be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
