Carolyn Louise (Grannan) Pry

Carolyn Louise (Grannan) Pry 83 years of age died Thursday March 24, 2016 at Providence Retirement with her family by her side. Carolyn was born February 16, 1933 in Washington, Indiana to the late Omer and Monet (Spaulding) Grannan. She was a 1951 graduate of Washington Catholic High School and graduated in 1955 from Indiana University Bloomington where she was a member of Zeta Alpha Sorority. In 1955, Carolyn also became engaged and then married Lewis U. Pry Jr. In addition to being a devoted Mother, Nana and Wife of sixty years, Carolyn was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing golf at the old New Albany Country Club. She was a past officer and longtime member of Tri Kappa Philanthropic Sorority in New Albany and was also a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. Carolyn will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Lewis U. Pry Jr.; three children, L. Stephen Pry and his wife Laurie, Kathryn Lynne Coryell and her husband, Jim, and Cara Lee Sariscsany and her husband, Dale; eight grandchildren, Conner (Lindsey), Jacob, Jared, Alyssa, Rebecca, Jessica, Tyler and Spencer; three great-grandchildren, Mattie, Grayson and Lillie; one sister, Marilyn Baxter; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday March 29th, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday March 30th, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in New Albany with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
