Michael D. “Mike” Lea, 63, Muncie, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 27, 2021.
He was born Friday, October 18, 1957, in Portland, Indiana, the son of David and Joanne (Sparks) Lea. Mike grew up in Dunkirk and attended Jay County High School. He enjoyed life to the fullest, which included drinking a Budweiser beer. Mike loved spending time with family and friends and his “furry companions”. He worked for Superior Linen Services.
Survivors include his mom, Joanne Charles; son, Kris (wife, Lisa) Lea; two brothers, Randy (wife, Sherry) Lea, and Rick (wife, Brenda) Lea; his sister, Connie (husband, Randy) Kerrigan; two grandchildren, Kiley and Landon; four step brothers, Max (wife, Terry) Bowdell, Tom (wife, Pam) Charles, Kerry Charles, and Blake Charles; two step sisters, Patty Scott, and Renee (husband, Jesse) Pryor; three nephews, Tyler Lee, Hunter Charles, and Tanner Charles; five nieces, Brittany Daugherty, Lindsay (husband, Danny) Esparza, Lauren Kerrigan, Brilyn Kerrigan, and Christy Dean.
His dad, David Lea; his daughter, April Guy; and a sister, Lisa Charles, preceded him in death.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2021, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana with Pastor David Delk officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call at Elm Ridge Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday or after 10:00 a.m. Monday. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a mask and social distancing is required.
