Obituary of Marjorie A. Winn
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full at His wonderful face; And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.” [Chorus from hymn: The Heavenly Vision by Helen H. Lemmel] Marjorie Anne (Moore) Winn, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, early on Monday morning, August 19, 2024 surrounded by her family at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 16, 1933 to the late Harvey and Helen (Rodenberger) Moore in Muncie, Indiana. Marjorie attended Muncie schools and worked various jobs, including as a bookkeeper for D. M. Dawson & Son Inc. On June 8, 1968, Marjorie married Charles E. Winn and together, they raised six children; Norman, Charles, Karen, Judy, Sally, and Scott. She loved and prayed for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. An avid reader, a book or a crossword puzzle was never far from Marjorie. She was creative and enjoyed doing art and making crafts. She dearly enjoyed playing piano. Most of all, Marjorie loved Jesus and it was her greatest desire that everyone would know Him as their own personal savior. Marjorie is survived by husband, Charles E. Winn; three daughters, Karen Bales (Tony), Judy Pippin (Brad) and Sally Cowger (Pat); three sons, Norman Moore (Yolanda), Charles Winn (Bonnie), and Scott Winn (Maricar); thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a sister Sara Dean, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: Louise Coffman, Harold Moore, and Alfred Carmen Moore. The family would like to thank the staff of Ball Memorial Hospital for their thoughtful care given to Marjorie. Services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday August 22, 2024 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, with Pastor Rick Welch (Blountsville Congregational Christian Church) officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until the time of the service at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery 1400 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie’s name to The Blountsville Congregational Christian Church, 7746 East High Street, Losantville, Indiana, 47354.
