Joseph “Joe” Eugene Syphers, 62, after an extended illness, was comforted by his loving wife and passed away peacefully to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, Indiana. Joe was born in Muncie on September 2, 1961. He was a son to the late Eugene WM. Syphers.
Joe attended Wes-Del High School and graduated from Northside High School in Muncie in 1980. While at Wes-Del, Joe was a drummer in the marching band. He was employed by the Muncie Sanitary District for more than 30 years; throughout his career, he was known for his dedication and hard work.
His hobbies included playing drums in four local church praise bands. He also played in a band called Back in Time for several years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife, Charlotte. He loved his animals, several dogs; Marmaduke, Snoopy, Jordan, Nevaeh, and Willow. He loved watching football and basketball; especially rooting for his Indianapolis Colts and the Indianapolis Pacers, although he was a fan of all sports. He was an avid CB'er that went by the call name “Stix” and gives a shout-out to all his buddies. "So long good buddy!"
Joe’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were honored to have had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on for generations to come, inspiring those around him with his kindheartedness, generosity, and unforgettable spirit.
