OBITUARY
George David Thompson
May 26, 1944 – November 24, 2023
IN THE CARE OF
Elm Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Park
In loving memory of our father, George Thompson, who passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023. He was the devoted husband of Patty and loving father of Christina (David), Patricia (Faycal), and David. George was a beloved grandfather to Sadye, Cierra, Dakota, Christopher, Firas and a great grandfather to Tessa. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
One of the kindest souls on the planet, our father was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. As a U.S. Army veteran, he faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.
Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled the same work ethic in us. He was always there for us, whether we needed help throwing a softball around, baiting a hook or just a shoulder to cry on. He taught all of us the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to.
George is survived by his sister, Eliza Davis, three children, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six brothers, a sister, and a grandson.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Elm Ridge Memorial Park with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
Father, you are now at peace but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much, Rest in Peace.
