Linda McGowan

Linda Marcus McGowan, 75, of Midlothian, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 10, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice Bemben Marcus; brother, Michael Joe Marcus; grandparents, Michael and Julia Marcus and Charles and Barbara Bemben. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Col. James D. McGowan, Jr. (Ret); children, Kristy L. Davidson (Eric) of Mansfield, TX, J. Nicole Lawson Bogue of Powhatan, VA, Jay Lawson (Mechelle) of North Chesterfield, VA, Jill McGowan Crowder (John) of Crozet, VA and David McGowan of Madison, VA; grandchildren, Connor and Brady Davidson, Whitley and Landen Bogue, Alec and Andrea Knepp, Michael, Rachel, Courtney, Natalie and Anna Crowder; 4 great grandchildren; three brothers, Pete (Carolyn), Larry and Greg (Sherry); uncle, Charles (Parris); and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members. Linda was a wife, mother and "Mimi" to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them and loved them beyond measure. Linda graduated Coeburn High School in 1965 and Clinch Valley College (University of Virginia's College at Wise) in 1967. She worked for Eastman Kodak Co., Adam J. Fiedler OB/GYN and UNOS. A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Sunday, September 25 at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel. A private interment is scheduled in Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. Donations in Linda's memory are requested to go to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
