Robin Buchan Lane

Robin Buchan Lane of Mechanicsville, Virginia passed on June 29, 2024. Born January 15, 1953, she was a youngest of three girls born to Bob Buchan and Becky Portewig. She was raised in Bowling Green, Virginia living most of her life in Culpepper, Virginia, and later moving to Mechanicsville, Virginia to be closer with family. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Betty. She is survived by her sister, Sarah (Jay), son Chris (Jennifer) daughter Becky (Michael) and grandchildren, Pelham, Kemper, Caroline, Mosby, and Brady. She was a true artisan, there wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. Some of her many talents included sewing, quilting, decorating, flower arrangements, and of course her cooking. She even picked up a paint brush and to no surprise, she was brilliant. She was a Master Gardener and a member of the Calfee Garden Club. Robin was heavily involved with the Windmore Foundation for The Arts not only performing but also designing and hand crafting costumes. She was a best friend to all and was the best mother, grandmother, and sister imaginable. A memorial service for Robin will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM at Woody Funeral Home-Atlee, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
