GLASS, Hugh Maxwell Jr. ("Booty"/"Mike"), of Richmond, Va., 88, left our physical realm on September 2, 2024, to go fishing with the Lord.
Booty was the son of Hugh Maxwell Glass and Virginia Catherine Dunn. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Janet Carol Hening, daughter Shawn Catherine, and grandson Timothy Fisher. He is survived by his brother Don; five children, Debbie, Melissa, Michael, Heather and Becky; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Kaelyn, Mackenzie, Kylee, Aiden, Elizabeth, and Cole; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Booty was born in Richmond and went to John Marshall High School. As a young man, Booty enlisted in the Army with his brother Don and served three years. He remained a proud Army veteran throughout his life. Booty made a career in sales and was a master professional salesman. As his sister-in-law Nancy once said, "he could sell you an Easter egg at Christmas." Booty had a remarkable ear for music and loved to sing, dance, and play the bongos. He was an avid reader and always well informed. He also had a passion for fishing and Fox News. Booty will always be remembered for his quick wit, intestinal fortitude, and love for his family, friends and the underdog.
A memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Woody Funeral Home- Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116, followed by a celebration of life gathering at a local restaurant.
