Wilton "W.T." Thomas Wood Sr.

Wilton “W.T.” Thomas Wood, Sr., 79, of Madison Heights passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Didamia Bailey Wood. Born October 13, 1938, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Harry Franklin Wood, Sr. and the late Elsie Heptinstall Wood. W.T. was a retired maintenance worker for Nash Construction Company. In addition to his wife and parents, W.T. was preceded in death by four siblings and three great grandchildren. W.T. is survived by his children, Terri L. Wood of Rustburg, Wilton Thomas Wood, Jr. of Madison Heights, Wayne Wood of Madison Heights and Teresa Williams of Madison Heights; one brother, Ronald Wood of Rustburg; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2018, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Earl Clarkson officiating. Interment will follow at Christ Episcopal Cemetery in Gladys. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of his granddaughter, Wendy Wood.
