Wanda Marion Weir, 71, of Madison Heights, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late David Harry Weir.
Born on October 17, 1943 in Beckley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ina Mae Marion.
Wanda loved to plant and work in the garden. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Monroe.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Billy Campbell; one sister, Georgia Whitten; two step-daughters, Shirley Franklin and Faye Goodman and her grandson, Lonnie Franklin.
She is survived by her son, John Firth; daughter, Debbie Hartless; four grandchildren, Rodger Hunt, Kevin Goodman, Teresa Coleman, and Thomas Franklin; seven great grandchildren, Crystal Campbell, David Hunt, Brandon Goodman, Cameron Goodman, Hunter Franklin, Gage Franklin, and Angel Mays; three great great grandchildren, Hanna, Jeremiah, and Elaina; 2 sisters, Myra Heartless and Deborah Quary both of St. Petersburg, FL; one brother, Donald Campbell of St. Petersburg, FL; two sister-in-laws, Helen Weir and Ellen Grant; and numerous other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, May 25, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Monroe with Pastor Glenn Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence.
