Patricia Foster Christian

Patricia Ann Foster Christian (Trisha), 70, of Madison Heights, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Lynchburg, VA on July 11, 1954, she was the daughter of the late George Smith Foster, Jr. and the late Wilhelmina Rice Foster. Trisha graduated from Sweet Briar College in 1989, after returning to further her education as a Turning Point student. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and a loyal donor, volunteer, and supporter of her alma mater. She was a dedicated first grade teacher with Campbell County Public Schools for 27 years, earning the honor of Teacher of the Year in 1998. She shared her artistic talents with those she loved, and her gifts of artwork are treasured by family and friends. Taking beach trips with her grandkids, sitting on her screened porch, nurturing her plants and flower beds, and dancing to Springsteen all gave her joy. A devoted Bruce fan for decades, she looked forward to feeding her soul at concerts. Her witty sense of humor, bright smile, and genuine compassion for others will be missed. Trish touched so many lives in such a positive way. Her whole-hearted dedication to family and the impact she had on her students will be her legacy. She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Briggs (Wayne) and Michelle Lucado (Bobby); two sisters, Rae Medley (Ed) and Kathy Kirby; three grandchildren, Claire Briggs, Carter Briggs, and Carson Lucado; nephews; and her lifelong best friend, Toye. She was preceded in death by her late former husband, James Christian. The family would like to thank Gentle Shepherd Hospice and her caregiver, Nora, for their compassionate love and care. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel in Madison Heights, VA.
