Margaret Elizabeth Hostetter, 92, of Madison Heights, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
Born on January 9, 1932 in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie W. Mathews and Effie M. Mathews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell Hostetter; her son, Maxwell Hostetter, Jr.; six brothers, Harry B. Mathews, Gordon W. Mathews, Robert B. Mathews, Charlie W. Mathews, Edward L. Mathews, Frank N. Mathews; and four sisters, Willie A. Teeter, Helen L. Mathews, Dorothy M. Mathews and Mable V. Pillow.
She is survived by one sister, Catherine M. Webster; one brother, Clyde T. Mathews (Faye); niece, Debra Jennings; great niece Lindsay Phillips (Joe); great nephews, Brad Jennings (Beth), Dustin Jennings (Hailey); great-great nieces and nephews, Dylan Phillips, Mileena Phillips, Lily Jennings and Magnolia Jennings; and other family.
The family would like to thank Runk & Pratt Pearls of Life and Seven Hills Hospice.
A graveside service celebrating her life will be conducted on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Park officiated by Pastor David Edinger.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Margaret’s church, Amelon United Methodist, 156 Scottsmill Road, Madison Heights VA, 24572.
