Karla Zerkel Adcock

Karla Zerkel Adcock, 73, of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Born on December 29, 1950 in Alexandria, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Betty Zerkel. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters. Karla was an accomplished Registered Nurse and was very proud of her impressive nursing career. She co-founded Jefferson OB-GYN in Charlottesville thirty years ago which has now become a thriving multi-physician practice. She loved caring for her patients and her family. She enjoyed skiing and belonged to numerous organizations and clubs throughout the country. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Michael Adcock; her two sons, Christopher (Megan) and James Morris (Kara); two stepdaughters, Carrie Dooley (Shane) and Mary Martin (Keith); and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 4708 Dick Woods Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter.
